This position is based at our Iowa Events Center. The Iowa Events Center features a variety of flexible spaces to host events of all types and sizes. The Iowa Events Center is a unique combination of three venues under one roof: Wells Fargo Arena, Hy-Vee Hall, and Community Choice Credit Union Convention Center. The complex is flexible to meet the needs of events of all types and sizes. Parking Supervisor will assist the Parking Manager in daily operations of all Iowa Events Center parking locations. Position is responsible for various administrative duties and ensuring staff has appropriate knowledge and tools for customer service focus and efficient operations.

While performing duties of this job, the employee is frequently asked to multi-task under time constraints and with moderate to high pressure situations. Position requires constant attention to precise details and accuracy of specified standards including: following simple to complex (more than 3 steps) instructions, and concentration which frequently extends beyond 30 minutes at a time. Employees in this role will frequently be in leadership role; this requires directing others either verbally or in writing to complete tasks in prescribed time frame. This position also requires frequent use of interpersonal skills including: ability to direct/motivate/inform staff and foster collaboration, greeting and directing clients verbally and with visual cues towards parking locations. Employee must be able to recognize and resolve conflicts, and be able to openly communicate in writing and verbally with clients. Employee will frequently communicate via radio, phone, email and in-person with others and exchange prompt and accurate information. This position requires employee to frequently work both independently or as part of a team.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee will frequently operate a computer and other office devices such as
calculators, telephones, copy machines, faxes and printers. Employee will also frequently move about inside and outside
facility in various areas including parking lots before/during/after events in the course of supervising staff and directing
clients to parking locations. Employee must constantly communicate via radio, telephone, email and in-person with others
and exchange accurate information. Employee may occasionally be required due to business demands and event
operations to lift and push/pull up to 50 pounds.
The duties of this position are performed primarily outdoors year round, with exposure to the weather conditions prevalent at the time. Work is also frequently in an office environment indoors. The noise level in the work environment is usually minimal to moderate during non-event days and moderate to loud during event days. Employee is required to move about large parking lots in all weather condtions, and around a large event facility to provide direction and supervise parking staff or assist with parking situations as required.
