    The Human Resources Generalist provides administrative, technical and specialized support to the human resources function (e.g. correspondence generation, team member records, job classification, benefits administration, and HRIS functions).  Coordinates and reviews new hire information and assists with onboarding process.  Works closely with other departments (payroll, benefits administration, accounting, IT, internal audit, finance and marketing).  Assists Director of HR in providing leadership, support and education to the Food & Beverage Team on the company’s core values, ethics and compliance, and overall HR policies, procedures and best practices.

    • Coordinate the preparation, recording, maintenance and reporting of data related to personnel information (personnel and personal files, HRIS input and maintenance) in an accurate, complete, organized, and legally compliant manner.
    • Ensure complete confidentiality and security of personal information, including background screen info, medical info, investigatory files, etc.
    • Exercise tact and diplomacy in dealing with sensitive, complex and confidential team member issues and situations.
    • Prepare clear and concise reports, correspondence and other written materials.
    • Investigate Employee Relations (ER) issues and/or complaints. Provide recommendations to resolve concerns or issues that promote a fair, equitable and inclusive workplace.
    • Provide technical support and backup in team member records, payroll documents, classification, compensation, benefits administration.
    • Establish and maintain effective, positive working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
    • Assist with handling of team member relations issues including performance evaluation, performance management, conflict resolution and succession planning.
    • Guide and assist management team with performance management related issues, standards of conduct, misconduct, performance correction, and termination.
    • Respond to team member inquiries regarding policy or rule application in a timely, professional, courteous and helpful manner.
    • Understand company policies and procedures and assists in the implementation and interpretation of these policies, procedures and practices.
    • Conduct New Hire Orientation, cultural sensitivity and other company or specialized training.
    • Assist with timekeeping system and preparing payroll for processing.
    • Interview, hire train, mentor, and if needed, terminate direct reports.
    • Responsible for all aspects of performance management of HR team to ensure a positive, harmonious, compliant and cooperative work environment.
    • Assist with special HR projects, as directed by the Director of Human Resources.



    • Demonstrates leadership skills; communicates tactfully and effectively, both verbally and in writing.
    • Knowledge of basic payroll and personnel record keeping principles and practices.
    • Ability to adhere to highest standards of professionalism, discretion and confidentiality.
    • Strong working knowledge of Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS).
    • Knowledge of basic federal, state and local laws and regulations.
    • Advanced proficiency using Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
    • Solid organizational skills; ability to prioritize multiple tasks; project management skills.
    • Ability to represent oneself and the company in a professional manner.
    • Working knowledge of general HR and payroll practices.
    • Versed in proper office/organizational/business etiquette.
    • Possesses basic business administration and financial acumen.


    Education and Experience:

    • Bachelor of Arts / Sciences in Human Resources, Business Administration or related major, or equivalent experience.
    • Minimum three (3) years verifiable HR Generalist experience in the Hospitality and/or Food Service Industry.
    • HR Generalist experience in the Gaming Industry a plus.
    • Experience with ADP or other HRIS, time and attendance systems, online applicant tracking and performance management systems preferred.
    • Training and mentoring experience.
    • Specialized professional training a plus. (PHR or SPHR).
