Overview

The Steward operates washes and sanitizes all tableware, serving materials, cooking equipment and small wares.   Additionally, does detail cleaning of the kitchen spaces and equipment. 

 

This position is based at our Gran Via Buffet. Regardless of what type of culinary mood you’re in, there’s a dish for it at the all-you-can-eat Gran Via Buffet at WinStar World Casino and Resort. This 500-seat buffet restaurant, just steps from the Madrid and London Gaming Plazas, allows you to be the curator of your own meal. The chefs at Gran Via Buffet are masters of blending their own cultural heritage from not just the United States, but Italy, Vietnam and Mexico, to create a thoroughly delicious eating experience. Responsibilities

  • Operates dish machine and three compartment washing sink.
  • Ensures highest sanitation levels for all items previously used so that they may be used again in clean condition, free of any contamination risk.
  • Follows all Materials Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) criteria, food and product safety, and Food and Beverage Policies and Procedures.
  • Removes all trash and maintains loading and receiving areas in safe and clean condition.
  • Restocks plates, glasses, pots, utensils and pans after cleaning.
  • Cleans and sanitizes all food service areas and equipment.
  • Detail cleans equipment and spaces in the buffet as assigned. 
  • Takes on special projects as assigned to ensure the cleanliness of the operation.
  • Must maintain excellent attendance and be available to work events and varied schedules per business need.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Must possess excellent guest service skills and be a self-starter with the ability to multitask, follow-up and complete tasks in a timely manner with minimum supervision.
  • Ability to communicate with team members, management staff and guests in a clear, business-like and respectful manner which focuses on generating a positive enthusiastic and cooperative work environment.
  • Ability to clearly communicate, read and write in English.
  • Must acquire and maintain a Health Food Handlers Card, Blood-Borne Pathogens (BBP) and other required compliance trainings.
  • Ability to work well in a team-oriented, fast-paced, event-driven environment.
