    Spectra, an international sports and entertainment firm representing properties including venues, teams, municipalities and world-class events, is seeking a professional sponsorships sales person to join our growing team. This exciting position will be responsible for generating revenue from local, regional and national companies through the sale of integrated sponsorship packages and premium seating.

     

    The Director of Partnerships is responsible for generating revenue for the venue through the sale of venue advertising, event sponsorships, signage, promotions, club seats and suites. This is a sales position without staff managerial responsibilities. Compensation will consist of base salary plus sales commission. This position will be responsible for achieving measurable financial results.

    Responsibilities

    • Responsible for the prospecting, selling, cultivating and maintaining of corporate partnerships and premium seating
    • Coordinate all aspects of sales solicitation process including account lists
    • Conduct cold calls as a way of securing appointments to sell to new prospects
    • Analyze specific marketing needs of prospects based on partner objectives, market strategies, category potential, activation potential and financials
    • Effectively present in front of individuals and large groups
    • Develop meaningful business relationships with existing sponsors and premium seat holders
    • Creation and development of sales presentation materials
    • Responsible for creation/implementation of new idea/opportunities that drive revenue
    • Manage internal and external sales process, on-site employees, reporting to VP of Partnerships and facility GM
    • Responsible for achieving established sales goals and budgets as set by VP of Partnerships
    • Creation of new client initiatives to better serve corporate partners
    • Effectively maintain department budgets and reporting
    • Create and implement new ideas and opportunities that will drive revenue for the venue and client
    • Develop sales action plans to ensure hitting budget goals along with the VP, Partnerships
    • Execute all aspects of corporate partnership fulfillment
    • Service all corporate sponsorships through various means including direct contact, newsletters, corporate partner gatherings, etc.
    • Design of sales proposals and presentations for potential corporate partners
    • Create annual recaps for corporate partners
    • Hold weekly sales meetings and create reporting system for General Manager, Spectra Venue Management and City
    • Completing and updating reporting and tracking systems
    • Work directly with other departments of Spectra Venue Management and City (marketing, operations, accounting, box office, tenant team personnel)
    • Must be able to work events on both nights and weekend
    • Other duties as appropriate for a department head

    Qualifications

    • Minimum of Associates’ Degree; Bachelor’s Degree is preferred.
    • Minimum of 5 years business to business sale experience preferably with emphasis in major league team sports, larger market media (TV, radio) and/or sponsorship sales
    • Proven track record of developing and managing highly strategic corporate partnerships; Strong prospecting, analytical, presentation and communication skills
    • Comfortable managing tight deadlines and meeting aggressive sales goals and expectations
    • Strong time management and organizational skills
    • Must be highly self-motivated and adept at working both independently and as part of a team.
    • Manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast paced environment
    • Strong written and oral communication is vital
    • Proficient in use of Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point
    • Ability to work nights, all events, weekends, events and holidays as required
