  • Overview

    The Compensation & Benefits Analyst administers, maintains, implements and communicates company benefit programs including: health, dental, life insurance, short- and long-term disability insurance, family medical leave, flexible spending, retirement plans, and base pay reviews.  Responsible for merit and bonus cycle data analysis and administration.  Works with manager to evaluate HR data and analytics needs to support benefits and compensation initiatives. Supports Company initiatives including annual enrollment, salary survey participation, wage and salary administration, data maintenance and other projects related to employee offerings. Ensures compliance with Federal, local, and state regulations

    • Day-to-day administration, compliance and communication of health & welfare, retirement and compensation plans in accordance with company policies, philosophies and strategies.
    • Point of contact for all benefit processes and documentation. Responsible for assisting employees with benefit election changes, maintains summary plan description records and associated forms, documents and communications.
    • Documents and maintains standard operating procedures (SOP’s) for assigned compensation and benefit processes.
    • Assists in coordinating HRIS reports and data compilation for compensation and benefit program design reviews.
    • Maintains compensation and benefit dashboards including benefit enrollment statistics, cost and claim data, census and trend data, as needed and with the assistance of benefits broker.
    • Supports the compensation program design, analysis, budgeting, and implementation of new programs. Administers base pay and bonus programs, including annual review and bonus cycles.
    • Assists HRBPs and other managers with benefits and compensation-related issues.
    • Performs trend analysis and industry best practices research to support enterprise decision making.
    • Generates in-depth benchmarking reports and analysis to provide compensation recommendations to HR leadership and senior management.
    • Participate in compensation or benefits surveys.
    • Serves as a point of contact for third party administrators.
    • Assists with periodic audits to ensure compliance with applicable compensation and benefit plan regulations.
    • Reconciles and processes all compensation and benefit carrier monthly invoices.
    • Assists in the preparation of annual regulatory filings, the distribution of require notices and data to support annual audits.
    • Assists in the development and release of program communication including preparation and dissemination of benefit program announcements, annualenrollment, health and wellness initiatives, and annual compensation planning reviews.
    • Assist with compensation processes including administration of company base pay and bonus programs, annual merit and bonus reviews.
    • Supports the compensation program design, analysis, budgeting, and implementation of new programs.
    • Benefits and Compensation Projects/Process Improvement; recommend process/customer service improvements, innovative solutions, policy changes and/or variations from established policy that must be approved by appropriate leadership prior to implementation. Serve as a key liaison with third parties and other stakeholders (e.g. payroll). Use project management skills in managing projects.
    • Ensures complete confidentiality and security of personal employee information, including medical and compensation information, etc.
    • Familiar with file feeds, error reports and resolution.



    • Requires 4-7 years of experience in benefits and/or compensation administration and analysis.
    • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or Business Administration preferred.
    • Working knowledge of benefits and compensation laws and regulations (ERISA, HIPAA, COBRA, Medicare, ACA, HSA, , and Department of Labor FLSA regulations).
    • General understanding of FMLA, workers compensation, USERRA, ADAAA and other applicable leave of absence legislation.
    • Excellent computer skills in Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, and HRIS software (Ceridian preferred).
    • Excellent mathematical, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
    • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
    • Must demonstrate ability to maintain confidentiality in all matters related to employee benefits and compensation.
    • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, changing, environment. Must work well under pressure of deadlines.
