  • Overview

    The Operations Coordinator oversees the areas of housekeeping, grounds maintenance, room sets and Horse Park services of the Ford Idaho Center. The Operations Coordinator must be able to lead crews (5+) in housekeeping and set ups; responsible for daily check lists and labor allocation sheets.


    This position is based at our Ford Idaho Complex. The Ford Idaho Complex is the premier Multi-Event Complex in the Pacific Northwest. Attend a concert, convention, sporting event, trade show, or an equestrian show, and you will be treated to a first-class experience at the Ford Idaho Center. We are centrally located between Seattle, Portland, Reno, and Salt Lake City. With air transportation just twenty minutes away at the Boise Airport, we are truly at the Crossroads of the Northwest.     • Leads teams of 5+ in housekeeping and set ups
    • Trains and motivates part time staff and temp staff in daily activities
    • Responsible for thorough execution of daily check lists
    • Promptly reports any concerns or personnel issues to Operations Management
    • Verifies and reports information from daily cleaning checklists throughout facility
    • Responsible for filling out and verifying quality room sets and other event paperwork
    • Working knowledge of operations equipment including, but not limited to, forklifts, pallet jacks, staging, retractable seating risers, basketball floors, sport track, buffers/burnishers,  rider sweepers/scrubbers, walk behind scrubbers, blowers, vacuums, snow removal equipment and others as needed.
    • Handle folding chairs, stacking chairs, tables of various shapes and sizes, drapery and skirting
    • Responsible for safe use of various supplies including a variety of cleaning chemicals, mops, brooms, shovels and scrapers in completion daily tasks
    • Responsible for accurately completing room sets
    • Responsible for assisting Horse Park sets and respective stall cleanings and stall preparations
    • Direct housekeeping, set up crews, and temporary staff during events
    • Provide excellent customer service assistance to internal and external clients
    • Maintain a customer first mentality


    • High school diploma, GED or equivalent required
    • Must have a demonstrated ability to function in a fast paced, high-pressure environment
    • Ability to read and accurately interpret event resumes for room sets
    • Ability to handle multiple tasks at one time and meet deadlines
    • Experience in public facility strongly preferred
    • Familiarity with OSHA requirements
    • Demonstrated experience in handling multiple tasks at one time and meet deadlines
    • Demonstrated ability and proficiency with various event sets
    • Must have demonstrated ability to lead large teams of 5+ employees with minimal direction
    • Superior interpersonal and communication skills
    • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
    • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in the English language, both orally and in writing
    • Possession of or ability to obtain a valid driver’s license highly desirable
    • Demonstrated self-starter
    • Must have open availability to work long hours including nights, weekends and holidays.

    Intellectual/Social demands:

    •  While performing essential functions of the job, the employee is frequently asked to multi-task under time constraints and with moderate to high pressure situations. Position requires constant attention to precise details and accuracy of specified standards including: following verbal, written and diagram instruction, following simple to complex (more than 3 steps) instructions, and concentration which frequently extends beyond 30 minutes at a time. Employees in this role will frequently be in leadership role; this requires directing others verbally and/or in writing to complete tasks in prescribed time frame. This position also requires frequent use of interpersonal skills including: ability to direct/motivate/inform staff and foster collaboration, being able to recognize and resolve conflicts, being able to openly communicate in writing and verbally with clients. This position requires employee to frequently work both independently and as part of a team for variety of tasks.

    Physical demands:

    • While performing essential functions of the job, the employee frequently lifts and moves facility equipment, supplies and/or tools. Employee will constantly move about inside and outside various areas of the facility before/during/after events; position will require employee to frequently bend, stoop, or crouch in order to set-up, tear down or clean in various areas of the building and grounds. Employee will occasionally be required to identify or match colors/tones of furniture, dance floor, carpet or other items as necessary. Employee will as needed operate various machines in cleaning and maintenance of building; employee will constantly communicate via radio and in-person with staff to exchange accurate information. Employee may frequently be required due to business demands and event operations to lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.

    Work environment:

    •  The duties of this position are performed both indoors and outdoors in the weather conditions prevalent at the time. The noise level in the work environment is usually minimal to moderate during non-event days and when not operating equipment and moderate to loud during event days when equipment or show is in operation.
