    This position will work directly with the Sales and Marketing staff to generate premium seating revenue, bring in new sponsors, retain current clients and market, promote, and work events at the Sears Centre Arena. This position will support the Sales and Marketing Department efforts while performing other duties as assigned throughout the arena. The goal of this internship is to expose students to the premium seating and partnership sales process while also working with the Marketing team to execute event promotion and various other tasks.


    This position is based at our Sears Centre Arena. Sears Centre Arena is an 11,800-seat multi-purpose family entertainment, cultural and sports center. Seating capacity for the arena ranges from 3,000-6,000 for theater shows; 9,400 for football, hockey, lacrosse and soccer games; 10,000 for basketball games and 11,800 for concerts.     • Generate revenue by calling inquired suite rental customers, closing the sale, and fulfilling orders
    • Visit with suite rental customers during events to ensure all expectations are being met
    • Support prospecting efforts through research and outbound efforts
    • Prospect, research, and follow up on customer lists to market new events to past customers
    • Learn and implement the sales process from prospecting to closure
    • Assist in the pre-event suite set up and staging
    • Conduct market research regarding sponsorship and industry trends
    • Assist in proactive development of new and unique partnership concepts and ideas
    • Ensure all elements of partnership agreements have been satisfactorily executed as contracted
    • Take and catalog photos during events of sponsorship elements for use in partnership recaps
    • Collaborate with partnership sales team to meet and exceed sales goals and set short and long-term goals and strategies for corporate partners and the arena
    • Implement email marketing and social networking campaigns to increase ticket and suite sales
    • General clerical and administrative duties along with all other additional duties as assigned

    *This will include hours outside of 9-5, M-F*


    • Open to college juniors, seniors and grad students seeking internship
    • Sport Management, sales, marketing, advertising or business related majors preferred
    • 10-20 hours per week during normal business hours with flexibility to work nights/weekends as needed
    • Above average knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and various social media sites
    • Excellent communication skills in person as well as over the phone and via email
    • Extreme attention to detail, well organized, with a professional demeanor
    • A strong work ethic with a team-oriented attitude and a desire to learn
