The Part-Time Administrative and Accounting Assistant provides accounting support to the General Manager, Assistant General Manager and Director of Finance. Duties will include a variety of responsible and accounting, administrative, and clerical duties.


The Centene Community Ice Center is a 4-sheet ice complex, with three indoor and one outdoor NHL-sized rinks which will serve as a hub of youth and amateur sports activity and as a place where the community can come together. It will be the official training and practice facility for the St Louis Blues and home to other local hockey programs, including Lindenwood University, the St Louis Blues Alumni, AAA Blues, and the Lady Cyclones. In addition to hockey and skating programs, games and tournaments, the outdoor rink will convert to a 5,000-seat concert venue and will also be used for community events and programming.   • Process and prepare accounts payable invoices.
  • Record daily revenue.
  • Apply customer payments and prepare bank deposits.
  • Process new hire packets and background checks
  • Ensures complete confidentiality and security of personal employee information, including medical information, payroll information, personnel files, etc., without exception
  • Assist with month end closing procedures.
  • Prepares select event settlements and sales journals.
  • Assist with employee record maintenance.
  • Operate a computer to perform accounting functions.
  • Provide administrative support including typing correspondence, preparing contracts, compiling expense and other reports, monitor contract compliance of facility rentals.
  • Maintains a filing system for records, reports and other documents.
  • Responsible for maintaining files, preparing and transcribing correspondence, and obtaining appropriate signatures when necessary.
  • Sorts and distributes incoming mail; prepares outgoing mail with necessary postage; sends and receives email as needed.
  • Perform general administrative functions including faxing, photocopying, mail distribution, and bulk mailings.
  • Organize and submit office supply order for main work room.
  • Answer, screen and direct calls; handle routine inquiries.
  • Assist with various event related duties.
  • Type and proofread a wide variety of reports, letters, memos and statistical charts; type from rough draft, verbal instruction or transcribing machine recordings; independently compose correspondence, brochures and flyers related to responsibilities assigned.
  • Assist in a variety of department operations; perform special projects and assignments as requested.
  • Establish and maintain cooperative-working relationships in the course of work.
  • Perform related duties and responsibilities as required.


  • One year of professional accounting experience. Some experience in building management industry preferred but not required.
  • One year of administrative assistant, or similar, experience preferred.
  • Must be accurate and efficient with ability to meet deadlines.
  • Capable of working with all levels of management.
  • Knowledge of Sage 100 preferred.
  • Knowledge of modern office procedures, methods and computer equipment.
  • Knowledge of principles and procedures of record keeping and file keeping
  • Able to communicate clearly in the English language both orally and in writing using proper spelling, grammar and punctuation.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and Outlook required.
