Overview

The Accounting Manager position will help monitor, control, and audit financial transactions.  This position will perform a full range of professional accounting duties involved in record keeping, reporting and financial analysis of the facility.

 

This position is based at our Ford Idaho Center and will assist with the Nampa Civic Center. The Ford Idaho Center features a variety of flexible spaces to host events of all types and sizes. The Ford Idaho Center is a unique combination of three venues under one complex: Ford Idaho Center Arena, Ford Idaho Sports Center, and Ford Idaho Horse Park. The complex is flexible to meet the needs of events of all types and sizes. It is well-suited for conventions, meetings, tradeshows, sporting, social and entertainment events.

 

Responsibilities

  • Process and prepare accounts payable invoices.
  • Verify & post entries to general ledger accounts; run trial balances
  • Detail processing for accounts receivable and collection calls for outstanding payments.
  • Process Box Office ticket reports and record transactions.
  • Assist with month end closing procedures.
  • Help with mainline phone questions and assist customers when needed.
  • Prepares select event settlements and sales journals.
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts.
  • Assist with payroll processing and onsite Human Resource functions.
  • Prepare audit work papers and perform analysis of accounts.
  • Prepare sales statements.
  • Assist with employee record maintenance.
  • Perform related professional accounting work in support of accounting functions.
  • Apply Federal, State, and local laws and regulations pertaining to accounting and auditing work.
  • Examine and verify a variety of financial documents and reports.
  • Prepare a variety of financial statements, reports, and analyses.
  • Operate a ten-key calculator by touch at a speed necessary for successful job performance.
  • Operate a computer to perform accounting functions.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
  • Occasionally work during events that happen during the night, weekend, and/or holidays.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in accounting, finance, public or business administration or a related field required
  • Two years of professional accounting experience preferable including some supervisory experience. Some experience in building management industry preferred by not required.
  • Knowledge of Sage 100 preferred.
  • Must be accurate and efficient with ability to meet deadlines.
  • Capable of working with all levels of management.
  • May require working beyond normal business hours, including nights, weekends and holidays based on event calendar.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and Outlook required.
