Under the leadership of the Director of Ticket Sales, the Senior Account Executive is responsible for the generation of ticket sales revenue and for assisting with all aspects of the annual season and group ticket sales campaign including but not limited to Full Seasons, Partial Plans, and Groups for URI Football and Men’s and Women’s Basketball as well as family shows at the Ryan Center.  This position supervises part-time sales coordinators and interns.  




  • Responsible for producing the maximum revenue for URI Basketball and Football through the sale of ticket packages (seasons, partial, groups, etc)
  • Responsible for communicating to clients and prospects through various means including direct contact, corporate partner gatherings, etc.
  • Build relationships and expand business with current ticket holders and call new prospects and referrals to drive revenue.
  • Work in the assigned Ryan Center location on a daily basis as well as attend in person meetings within the community.
  • Meet with event clients prior to events in determining event needs, oversee related staff and provide information and direction to in-house departments and support staff.
  • Deliver superior customer service to all current and future fans.
  • Represent URI and the Ryan Center with the highest levels of character and integrity.
  • Knowledgeable in all URI Basketball and Football product lines including season plans, partial plans, premium seating group packages as well as the Athletic Development RAMS Fund.
  • Recruits, hires and trains all Account Executives and Interns.
  • Assist Director with coordinating campaign schedule to ensure complete prospecting canvas of all products.
  • Manages all database information listings acquired through various entities through CRM database.
  • Make sales calls, appointments, and close business
  • Responsible for handling customer challenges and/or concerns as they relate to sales made by the department.
  • Make requests and schedule for additional support staffing for outside events and games.
  • Personally Selling.
  • Assist Director with Ticket Sales Marketing plan to increase Ticket Revenue.
  • Prepare sales material and collateral.
  • Research and implement “best practices” of sales events by networking with other sports teams.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned and/or required.


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Sports Management, or Business-Related field required
  • Minimum of one (1) year sales, promotional, or fundraising experience with a collegiate and/or professional sports team including some supervisory experience
  • Capable of traveling and working a flexible schedule and extended hours, including but not limited to working early mornings, nights, weekends and holidays in addition to traditional business hours, is required.
  • Must have valid driver’s license and vehicle.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in the English language, both orally and in writing.
  • Excellent organizational skills and customer service skills required.
  • Proven ability to work in a team environment yet capable of completing tasks independently.
  • Positive thinker required.
  • Enthusiastic, motivator and sales professional required.
  • Comfort with making outbound phone calls in a professional and friendly manner.
  • Excellent knowledge of PC systems including Word, Excel, and database management software.
  • Ticketing software knowledge a plus (preferably Paciolan and Ticketmaster) and Salesforce CRM systems.
