Overview

This position will assist in the management and effective operation of the day-to-day Ticket Office functions and all event related functions and settlements. This position will be the primary ticketing contact for tenant teams and State Tournaments

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for interviewing, selecting, training, evaluating and supervision of part time Ticket Office employees and Ticket Office Supervisors.
  • Authority to make financial decisions related to individual customer ticket orders.
  • Responsible for and primary contact for all ticketing needs for in house tenants (Iowa Wild, Iowa Barnstormers and Iowa Wolves) and all state tournaments.
  • Assist in the prevention of credit card fraud.
  • Ensure compliance within department on personnel policies and procedures.
  • Provides event and ticket information as required.
  • Responsible for ensuring tickets are available for sale at correct price with associated fees and per instructions provided by Promoter, Event Manager, General Manager, and any other entities involved with production of event.
  • Assists the Ticket Office Manager in setting up the ticketing system for events, compiling ticket sales information, and maintaining and coordinating ticket sales with Paciolan.
  • Assumes duties of the Ticket Office Manager in his/her absence.
  • Responsible for providing feedback, coaching and any disciplinary action to staff.
  • Provide excellent customer service and resolve customer related issues promptly.
  • Prepare daily deposit sheets.
  • Builds and maintains season ticketed events.
  • Maintain an effective working relationship with other staff, event promoters and the general public.
  • Monitors change needs for the department and orders change requests as needed for events.
  • Responsible for installation, training, and maintenance of ticket outlets
  • Responsible for maintenance of facility ATMs
  • Aid Manager in preparation of all required Ticket Office reports to management and promoters
  • Assist with set-up and maintenance of proper Ticket Office procedures
  • Assist the Ticket Office Manager in the setup, including builds, seating charts, ticket prices and settlement of events as needed and communicate with promoters on ticketing details.
  • Investigates questions and problems related to ticket sales and develops solutions for the general public, event promoters, ticket office personnel and management.
  • Provide excellent customer service assistance to internal and external clients.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited college or university with major coursework in business administration or related field
  • Must have minimum of two years experience in ticket office operations and at least one year supervisory experience or any combination of education and experience that will have provided the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • Knowledge of sales techniques and practices
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with, motivate, support, and involve employees in accomplishing goals and objectives.
  • Must be able to communicate clearly and concisely in the English language, both orally and in writing
  • Ability to safely and accurately handle and account for large sums of money.
  • Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and handle difficult situations with courtesy and tact when dealing with the public and promoters.
  • Excellent computer and data manipulation skills; including software such as Microsoft Office and intermediate to advanced Excel skills highly desired.
  • Knowledge of Paciolan highly desired.
  • Must be available to work a flexible schedule including long hours, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
