Overview

The Operations Manager reports to the Director of Operations and is responsible for assisting in the administration, planning, budgeting and direction for the operations of the Complex including front and back of house services, technical services, information technology, conversion, custodial services, and equipment inventory control. Insures an effective and cost-efficient program and performs related day to day responsibilities as required.

 

Coordinates all elements of facility operations including, purchasing, directs the operation and maintenance of the mechanical, electrical, HVAC, custodial, grounds, security and smoke/fire detectors.

Responsibilities

  • Assume management responsibility for all services and activities involved in maintenance operations, including HVAC, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, chillers, refrigeration, ice making, boilers and associated equipment.
  • Select, train, schedule, motivate and evaluate staff; provide or coordinate staff training; work with employees to correct deficiencies; implement discipline and termination procedures.
  • Plan, direct, coordinate, and review the work plan for facility maintenance and operations; meet with staff to identify and resolve problems; assign work activities, projects, and programs; monitor workflow; review and evaluate work products, methods, and procedures.
  • Participate in the development and administration of the Operations budget; forecast of additional funds needed for staffing, equipment, materials, and supplies.
  • Oversee the set-up of events; coordinate facility arrangements with concessionaire and vendors; direct and monitor the work of contractors, engineers, and architects on building projects.
  • Order supplies and materials for maintenance programs within budget guidelines; receive and maintain supplies.
  • Maintain hazardous materials communication program, material safety data sheets and required records and permits; maintain knowledge of changes in pertinent Federal, State and Local regulations.
  • Develop and maintain an accurate record keeping system.
  • Oversee ice installation and maintenance.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from accredited college/university in a related field (Facility Management, Engineering, Sports Management etc.) or a minimum of four (4) years’ experience in building maintenance/venue setup including at least two years of supervisory responsibility.
  • Familiarity with OSHA requirements.
  • Previous ice maintenance and forklift driving experience is highly desirable
  • Knowledge of boilers, chillers, refrigeration, and ice making helpful.
  • Ability to climb stairs and lift 50 lbs., unaided
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule including, early mornings, nights, weekends, holidays, and extended number of consecutive days.
