OVG is seeking a dynamic, customer service oriented individual to join our box office team at the Iowa Events Center who can help lead our part time staff and assist in creating amazing experiences for our attendees.



  • Responsible for interviewing, selecting, training, scheduling, evaluating and supervision of part time employees
  • Ensures compliance within department on personnel policies and procedures
  • Provides leadership in the absence of the Ticket Office Managers
  • Responsible for providing feedback, coaching and any disciplinary action to staff
  • Tracks attendance of staff according to facility Attendance Policy
  • Prepares daily ticket office accounting reports as needed
  • Builds and maintains ticketed events, acting as main ticketing contact for events as assigned.
  • Builds and runs reports and gathers sales information to provide to internal staff and promoters
  • Responsible for maintenance of facility ATMs
  • Authority to make financial decisions related to individual customer ticket orders
  • Provides event and ticket information as required
  • Provide excellent customer service and resolve issues promptly when dealing with internal and external clients
  • Investigates questions and problems related to ticket sales and develops solutions for the general public, event promoters, ticket office personnel and management
  • Maintains an effective working relationship with co-workers, event promoters and the general public
  • Monitors cash needs for the department and orders cash as needed for events
  • Answers phones and provides event information
  • Assists Ticket Office Managers during events
  • Assists in preparing ticket office statements and settlements with promoters as requested
  • Assists at ticket window as needed
  • Assist in the prevention of credit card fraud


  • Graduate of an accredited college or university with major coursework in business administration or related field preferred; high school diploma or equivalent required
  • Must have minimum of two years’ experience in ticket office operations and at least one-year supervisory experience or any combination of education and experience that will have provided the required knowledge, skills and abilities
  • Knowledge of sales techniques and practices
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Demonstrated ability to work with, motivate, support and involve employees in accomplishing goals and objectives
  • Must be able to communicate clearly and concisely in the English language, both orally and in writing
  • Ability to safely and accurately handle and account for large sums of money
  • Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and handle difficult situations with courtesy and tact when dealing with the public and promoters
  • Excellent computer and data manipulation skills; including software such as Microsoft Office and intermediate to advanced Excel skills highly desired
  • Knowledge of Paciolan Ticketing highly desired.
  • Must be available to work a flexible schedule including long hours, nights, weekends and holidays as needed
